Positive thoughts everyone! Positive thoughts.

It's been another month. Another month of sending out CVs; of going out to interviews; of waiting for responses...

It's exhausting, but at least things are moving forward.

The only problem... it has consumed the majority of my life.

I won't say that I haven't played anything during this month, but I haven't been able to invest enough time to complete a title.

I have however put enough time into Xanadu Next to reach the last dungeon - which is a long one compared to the previous dungeons. Not only that, but I have also put in a little time in Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater. I have only managed to reach and beat The Fear.

Beyond that, I haven't even had any time to join my brothers during our weekly co-op run. I think this month I only managed to play one session of The Outlast Trials and a level of Styx: Shards of Darkness.

Status: Released

I finished this game back on Jan 12, 2023, though I had started it months before and left it sitting on my desktop for a while.

When I saw this game, I was looking forward to playing it. I love tactical strategy games. And I love Lovecraftian themed games. So a combination of the two? I imagined it would be a good mix.

But... unfortunately it was not as good as I had hoped. The game was repetitive and it felt like it was lacking in a lot. For instance, there were sections in the level maps that appeared to lead somewhere, only to arrive at dead ends with no results. Similarly, it would have been nice to have a choice in which heroes you have. You get four at the very start of the game and that's it. Even the enemies barely changed as the game progressed. If the game had offered a bit more in mission variety; exploration; enemy types; hero choices and equipment selection... I would have probably loved the game a lot more than I did.

And that is another month down. I look back over the year and I can barely believe all that has happened during this time. I am also dismayed to see how much my game time has plummeted compared to previous years.

I can only hope that by the end of the year things will begin to turn. I would very much like to write in my next upload that things have settled. But time will tell.
